If your family enjoys craft, food and fun then this is for you! Since September 2013, we have run Messy Church once a month on a Saturday (from 3pm to 5pm), and you are invited to come to our hall in Whitehorse Lane for fun and creative craft. We will then gather to hear the Bible story behind the activities, and get together for tea and pudding! You can find all upcoming dates at the bottom of the page.
The first ever Messy Church was held in Portsmouth and has since become popular with families right across the country – and it is perfect for families who want to spend time together, enjoy craft, like having fun and want to make new friends. See further down for details of what happens at our Messy Church.
Messy Church in Canterbury is open to all. There is no cost – donations are gratefully received. Feel free to just turn up, or you can let us know that you’re coming by getting in touch (you can use the form at the bottom of the page).
Messy Church at Canterbury Salvation Army launched in 2013, and we’ve had so much fun. So far we’ve looked at (to name but a few) the Christmas story, the Parable of the Sower, Things That Go Bump in the Night and a theme of Light; we’ve also looked at the lives of several Bible characters such as Paul, Joseph and Ruth!
We’ve made banners, clay tiles, masks, candle holders, cakes and bookmarks. We’ve eaten hot dogs, burgers, shepherd’s pie and lots of delicious desserts. We have loads of fun meeting new people and we’d like you to come along too.
We would be so pleased to hear from you – whether you have questions, or would like to let us know you are coming – just fill in the form below.
